Happy New Year Priddis!

We would like to begin this month’s community update with some thank yous. Over the last month a crew of dedicated volunteers, led by Steve and Doug, spent dozens of hours finishing the interior of our new garage and change room and building a beautiful deck with benches for people to put their skates on. We are so thankful for all of the time they spent on this amazing project. Secondly, we would like to thank the hard working ice crew who spent many long, cold and late nights at the rink over the holidays making sure that the ice was ready for the community to enjoy. Lastly, we would like to send our heartfelt thanks to some outgoing members of the PCA Board. Our treasurer, Leah Tenove, and Vice President, Jessie Boyle, have dedicated many hours to our community over the last few years. We are grateful for their commitment and wish them well.

Last night, at this month’s board meeting, we welcomed three new executives to the team. We can look forward to Melodie Lalonde’s leadership as President, Patrica Feuchter supporting as Vice President, and Susan Penner looking after the financial side of things as Treasurer. Welcome to the team!

Community Skating Rink:

An amazing team of volunteers has begun the process of flooding the rink. The temperature fluctuations still pose a challenge, but they are doing everything they can to get the rink open for the community to enjoy as soon as possible.

Please keep an eye on the website and social media for the opening date and public skating schedule.

A few things to remember so that everyone can enjoy the rink this season:

  • The rink is for Priddis community members. If you don’t yet have a membership, please purchase one online

  • Abide by the posted public skating times. There is no public skating allowed during Panther’s practices, games or community shinny

  • Leave the ice when asked to do so for maintenance (clearing & flooding)

  • Use the garbage and recycling bins provided

  • Helmets are mandatory

  • Be respectful and courteous to other rink users

On behalf of the entire Priddis Community Association board of directors, we would like to take this time to wish you a very happy holiday. We hope the season brings joy and happiness to you and your family. We are grateful to live and work in such a vibrant community and are looking forward to a wonderful 2024.

Hello Priddis,

Maybe not everyone is excited for winter’s arrival, but we do know that our hockey players are very excited about the season and are eagerly awaiting our rink flood!

The PCA and its Executive Director are continually planning and executing amazing programs and events. Here is what is coming up in the next couple of months:

Fall Supper

We hope you will join us for our 2023 Priddis Fall Supper. This annual tradition will take place on Saturday, November 18. The doors will open at 5:30 with dinner being served at 6:00. We will also have a cash bar, 50/50 and complimentary beer tastings courtesy of Screaming Retriever Brewing Co. Adult tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non members and children receive a discount. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the link below:

The PCA would like to thank all of our volunteers by offering them a complimentary ticket to the Fall Supper. If you volunteered at a PCA event in 2023, and haven't received a “thank you” from us, please reach out to our Executive Director to reserve your spot.

Santa Photos

Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming back to town! We are pleased to be hosting this fun photo opportunity for a 4th year in a row. Avoid waiting in line and book your visit with Santa right here in Priddis. Each slot is 5 minutes long and allows you to take as many pictures as you would like. Tickets are $25 for PCA Members and $30 for Non Members.

Don’t wait too long as this event always sells out.

Pay for your spot by purchasing a ticket through our website. After payment has been received, you will receive an email containing the link to sign up for a time slot.

Community Memberships

It is time to renew your membership! Memberships are valid from Nov 1- Oct 31 each year. Memberships help us to be able to maintain our community’s much loved facilities including the hall, playground, skating rink, library and tennis/pickleball courts. They also allow us to put on events such as the Stampede Breakfast, Fall Supper and Winterfest. Being a Priddis Community Member comes with benefits such as discounted tickets to our events and major discounts on hall rentals (after being a member for 2+ consecutive years). Memberships can be purchased through our website.

Indoor Pickleball

The court is lined and the net is up. Join us for some indoor pickleball fun. Whether you are new or a seasoned player, there is space for everyone. You can sign up for a spot through the link below.

Community Skating Rink

As Winter draws closer we always get a lot of questions about when the rink will be ready and what the schedule will be. Our ice crew is monitoring the weather and will start the initial flood as soon as it is consistently cold enough to do so. Please be sure to abide by all posted signs and stay off of the rink until it is opened for skating. Going on the ice before it is ready, even if it looks ready, can cause damage to the base layer and delay the opening of the rink. Before the rink opens we will post the public skating schedule on our website.

2023 Annual General Meeting

This year’s AGM will take place at the hall on December 14th at 7:30pm. Please send an email to priddispresident@gmail.com if you plan to attend. Your registration will ensure that you receive our AGM package in advance.

Board of Directors

We are still in need of a more permanent treasurer. You do not need to have an accounting background to volunteer for this position. Please reach out to priddispresident@gmail.com for more information.

Take care, everyone!
