Library-

Our volunteer run library, located in the old school house, is open 3 days a week. Come in for a visit to select your next read from 3-5pm on Tuesday and Thursdays and 10am-noon on Saturdays. The library also takes donations of recent titles.

Priddis Hall-

On April 28 the Priddis Hall will be used as a polling station for the Federal Election. Expect the hamlet to be busier than usual on this day. The Hall is also booking fast for the summer season. If you would like to rent the hall for your special event please reach out to our Executive Director at priddisalberta@gmail.com

We are thrilled to welcome back The Type to play live music for us again this year. In addition to a great breakfast, we will also have horse drawn wagon rides, face painting, a petting zoo, other special animal guests and a vendor market. Mark your calendars as you do not want to miss this fun community event.

We still have a few more spaces in the Vendor market to advertise your business or sell your creations. Email priddismarkets@gmail.com for more information

Other Updates:

Rink Project Lead Required-

The Priddis Community Association Board has started to explore some major rink repairs to address the current state of the rink structure and boards.Once funding is secured, the Board will need a volunteer who can lead this initiative. General responsibilities would be vendor selection, project feasibility, construction oversight and budget management. Experience in project management would be an asset. The project scope has already been determined and 3 quotes have been obtained. Grant writing for this project is underway. Please direct questions and/or expressions of interest to our Executive Director at priddisalberta@gmail.com

Parking in the Hamlet-

Thank you to all of the stakeholders who have reached out to the PCA since the parking meeting last October. We have spent the winter working alongside our partners at Foothills County on solutions that may alleviate the parking crunch in the hamlet during the warmer months, while still allowing us to welcome guests into our beautiful community. Stay tuned for more details on the plan coming soon.

Hello and Happy February PCA Members,

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need your help! The PCA has been granted an AGLC fundraising casino and we still have some volunteer spaces to fill. Here are the details:

When: April 29 and 30, 2025 (evening shifts)

Where: ACE Casino Blackfoot

What: Casino volunteers (no experience required)

This casino only happens once every few years and is the biggest single source of revenue for our non profit community association. The money from this casino helps the PCA upkeep community facilities, such as the hall, skating rink, old school house/library and tennis and pickleball courts. It also allows the PCA to put on programs and events for our community.

We would be so grateful if you would consider filling one of the 12 remaining shifts. Please direct your inquiries to our casino volunteer coordinators, Carmen and Wayne, at heinen3cw@gmail.com

CURRENT PROGRAMS:

Yoga:

The next session runs from February 6- March 3. Classes take place on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30-8:30pm at the Hall. The cost for the session is $160. Please email our instructor to register at loricwbffpro@gmail.com

Playgroup:

Thanks to a wonderful community volunteer, playgroup is back up and running every Wednesday from 10am-noon. Bring your child(ren) to play while you visit with other community parents or get some work done. This program takes place in the preschool room (basement) at the hall and is free for PCA members. Please note that this is a parented program.

Library:

Did you know that Priddis has its very own library? Drop by the old school house on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5pm or Saturdays from 10-noon. The volunteers would love to show you the massive collection of books available to borrow.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

WinterFest:

We hope you will join us on Sunday February 9 from 3-5pm for Priddis WinterFest. This event is free for PCA members and will feature skating, music, campfires, s’mores and hot chocolate. We will also have a BBQ and Bar available for purchase (cash or card).

Shinny Tournament:

While registration for this fun event is full, we would like to invite you to come on down on Feb 23 to take in the action. In addition to exciting hockey and a great atmosphere, we will be offering a breakfast concession and a BBQ and Beer Garden later in the day. Admission is free and it is sure to be a fun day.

We are quickly approaching our Annual Fall Supper - we changed it up a bit this year and added live music, changed up our dinner menu to include more variety and have gluten free options.

However, we require numbers for our caterer by Tuesday November 12th at 6pm in order to move this wonderful event forward!!

Please come out and meet your neighbours, enjoy a delicious meal with your family, listen to some old fashioned rock n’ roll that will be sure to get your feet tapping!! We promise during dinner the music won’t be too loud!!

I have attached the link below for ticket purchases - kids 6-12 are 1/2 price and kids under 6 are free!!

We look forward to seeing all of you there!!
